Commuting on the train, walking through a shopping centre or even drinking in a bar you’ll be walking past, meeting and may even know people with hidden disabilities, conditions or situations. I experienced this with my wife when undergoing IVF treatment and then into pregnancy. Even at the later stages of pregnancy, Mrs P looked her slim pre-pregnant self from behind however from the side or front, we all knew it for sure! There’s the very visual and then sometimes it’s not so obvious and you could be taking the piss out of someone with something serious going on, so isn’t it time to grow up! It could be a challenge like depression, they could be wearing a prosthetic or it could be a condition like epilepsy or diabetes where they need to inject themselves with insulin. These are all life changing things that I’m so fortunate to not suffer from, but I’m fully aware that you never know who does. So when Tena asked me to review their Men range, I quickly informed them that I was fortunate enough to not need the use of their Urine Leakage ranges and had a little chuckle. I’m going to be upfront with you, I didn’t take it seriously. But I’m an open guy and having spoke to them at length about the products and mainly the conditions where they would be needed, I was actually amazed at exactly how important a range like this can be to those in need. I felt stupid for not knowing this and having lots of older friends through golf, probably at one time in my life offended one of them with an insensitive joke . I didn’t know that 1 in 4 men over 40 has incontinence issues, there’s 5 other guys in our charity hike along Hadrian’s wall and the realisation that that means 1 ½ of us on average will have some issues when we hit 40 is scary! It takes the funny smirking feeling out of the whole situation. Those train journeys into Manchester for a meeting packed with commuters, taking those numbers into consideration is just overwhelming. But urine incontinence isn’t simple as just not being able to hold it in. There’s so many different elements to urination from your kidneys, bladder and involving numerous muscles. With so many processes involved, even one issue can have a dramatic impact in the functionality of the most normal bodily function. Thinking about all of the body parts involved issues like prostate cancer or an enlarged prostate can create a need, those with neurologic or conditions effecting the brain receiving the messages including spinal cord damage, Alzheimers, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons or a stroke can play a massive part in urination control. So taking that all into account, being able to control the flow could actually be a symptom of something rather more serious like prostate cancer. Not so funny now right! We’ve uncovered that it happens in 1 in 4 men and can be a symptom of a serious and hidden condition. This is a real problem for men and being a man myself, having recently having to come to terms with my own prostate exam. Recently I’ve had to realise that I’m getting older and these funny juvenile jokes are actually being relevant in my life. There really is only one brand to use if you’ve got an incontinence problem, which as I’ve stated above could be for a whole range of problems. If you’re going to have to use a product to make life liveable with this condition and prevent any unwanted leakages and be secure in the knowledge that nothing’s going to get out, get Tena Men. So I have two boxes here and it seems a shame to let them go to waste. If you’d like a box email me on CorporatedadUK@Gmail.com Alternatively, Free Samples can be picked up here: https://www.tena.co.uk/men/products/free-samplehttps://www.tena.co.uk/men/products/free-sample ]]>
It’s not something I’ve ever thought about but some of those stats are scary. Makes you think
Think about how many male friends you know and then look at the stats. Frightening.
It’s fab you’ve jumped on board even though you don’t need the products yourself. Some scary stats here!
The thing is, it could potentially be on the cards based on the above stats.
I have never thought about this problem for men. It is great that you are raising awareness. Kaz
It’s great that you are speaking out about this. It is something that men and women are afraid to admit., therefore it’s important that we talk openly about it.
Such a fabulously written post! Indeed you cannot tell a book by its cover and we should all be a wee bit more sensitive (pun not intended ?)
Thanks for sharing!

Haha wee bit!
This is a really eye opening post, and very well written. I am ashamed to admit, I wasn’t aware this was an issue for men at all. How naive of me!
I never realised how common and how many things could cause such issues.
This is such an interesting post, I knew nothing about this before.
I know neither did I! Glad I did my research
I’m glad people are starting to blog about this, I think many men don’t know this exists, or are ashamed to admit they need it. And they shouldn’t be, because it’s a natural part of life, and totally not their fault!
